Chinese students, guest lecturers, professionals or entrepreneurs.
You will receive a detailed profile of the tenant (passport/visa copy, university admission letter, personal photo, and personal "profile" if desired). To make sure everything fits, please let us know if you have specific wishes regarding the tenant or the duration of the tenancy (e.g. at least one year).
Students or guest lecturers usually stay between two and six years, depending on the length of their studies or doctorate.
The students have little or no knowledge of German, the guest researchers or doctoral candidates do speak English. Some of them attend a German course for a few months before they start their studies.
We conclude the rental contract without viewing the apartment. It is helpful if you provide us with photos of the apartment. In exceptional cases, if there is a need for an inspection, we will send a student assistant to inspect the apartment.
We send the contract to the interested parties by e-mail. You will receive the signed contract back by e-mail. The signed original contract will be handed over after the students arrive in the apartment and the keys are handed over.
Chinese students usually come from well-off middle-class families. They open an account with a balance of at least 8,000 € at a German bank before beginning their studies. The doctoral students and guest researchers have employment contracts with a university.
You will receive the deposit, the first month rent and the signed rental contract. Payment will be transferred to your account within three days.
Usually students and guest lecturers travel to Germany between September and October. The entry depends on the receipt of the visa by the German embassy in China. Handing over the keys and the original contract will take place directly after entry.
Chinese students usually receive the entry visa very late. In order to register at a German university, they need a rental contract. However, for a smooth start of their studies, searching for accommodation after entry is too late.
We have had very good experiences with Chinese students so far. In case of communication problems, we contribute to a solution between landlord and tenant and translate their requests. The Chinese are said to be very reliable when it comes to rent payments.
